    NEWBURYPORT — Mr. Rudolph A. "Rudy" DiZazzo, 76, of Newburyport and formerly of Lawrence died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008 at Amesbury Village, Amesbury.

    He was born in Lawrence, Nov. 21, 1932, son of the late Antonio and Anna (Salvi) DiZazzo.

    Educated in the Lawrence school system, Mr. DiZazzo attended Lawrence High School.

    During the Korean War he served in the United Sates Army and after being discharged returned to Lawrence.

    For over 10 years he owned and operated the former "Rudy's Pool Room" in Lawrence.

    Rudy resided on the ocean in Salisbury for over 18 years prior to moving to Newburyport in 1997. While in Salisbury he and his wife owned and operated two homes and apartments and he also worked at the Frolics.

    His survivors include his wife of 48 years, Dorothy A. (Langan) DiZazzo of Newburyport; a brother, Guido "Dodo" DiZazzo of Newburyport; a sister, Rita LaCorte of Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews.
